Monday, Monday, but talking about Sunday, Sunday

Yesterday I went to my very first Rubber Stamp Convention, and can I just say, WOW!! There we so many fun stamps, and so many companies that I had never even heard of. I've been scrapbooking since, well, forever, but the stamping bit is still kinda new to me. There was booth after booth of rubber stamps, clear stamps, unmounted stamps (which is very new for me) stamp pads, handy tools and just so many fun things!! At the very first booth my friend (hi Jessica!) and I stopped at, there was this lady that had a BIG mirror on a lanyard around her neck. We both looked at her and kinda laughed to ourselves. By booth #2, I was wanting to find the lady and her mirror! Little did we know that most of the booths sell unmounted stamps, meaning it's just the rubber part of the stamp, without the wooden block, which also means without the wooden block, there is no picture of what the stamp looks like. So, the lady ended up being the smart one that carried her own mirror, so that she could put the piece of rubber up to the mirror to read what it said. (remember, all stamps are backwards to look at them, but when put to paper, read in the right direction) So, you can bet I too will be wearing a BIG mirror on a lanyard to the next Rubber Stamp Convention I go to!! Spent way too much $, but had a great time. I even got to do a Make 'n Take!! I have worked at so many Scrapbook Shows over the past 5 years, and taught countless Make 'n Takes at the shows, so it was fun to sit on the other side of the table, and be crafty. We both made a really cute tin at the Cut it Up booth (hi Vicky!) using Tim Holtz alcohol inks. Such a cute project! Speaking of Tim Holtz, yep he was there too drawing a crowd as usual. The whole Stampers Anonymous booth was very busy, not just to see Tim, but to look at their fab stamps. Love their stamps!!
Spending the day at the RSC was such a treat, I can't wait 'till November for the next one!
