We snuck away last week to spend the last few days of Summer up at Grandpa & Grandma's house. Before we left, I did get 1 vacation layout finished. It was nice to get away one last time before the daily routine of school starts tomorrow. My inlaw's live out in the country, so it's nice to just breathe and take it all in. Leave the "worries of the city" behind you could say.
And that leads me to my new project. My wonderful Dad in-law has handed these down to me.It's all of the photo albums his Mom put together back in the 70's. There's 34 of them. All the sticky page/ruin your photos type of albums that were so popular back then, that I warn students in my Beginning Scrapbooking classes about. Fortunately the photos look pretty good. Time has been kind to them, and the photos are in perfect condition. Photos like this, of Great Grandma back in the 20's.Grandma was good about putting names and dates on the photos, unfortunately there are some like this, where she wrote name directly on the front of the photo. I'll spend a little time in Photo Shop restoring these and reprint them without the writing.
I think our vacation album will be taking a back-seat for a while I dive into these albums. I've been having such a great time looking through them putting pictures with the stories I've heard over the years.
