{Monday}

Hope you had a great weekend!
I visited a new scrapbook store with some friends on Saturday. The store just opened last week, so they were fully stocked. Made for a good time! Yesterday was a nice family day spent at home relaxing. I scrapbooked for awhile and got 5 layouts done. Now just 8,742 more to go and I'll be caught up {grin}
The sun is smiling down on us today, and I just made a picnic lunch for Gracie and I to enjoy while everyone else is at work/school.

{finally Friday!}

It's finally Friday, and I am so looking forward to the weekend! We've had a busy week with Tucker's chess class, recorder class, and his 4th grade recorder band concert, Gracie's gymnastics class, a girls day out for me for shopping and lunch with a friend, and Clayton put in a kickball field at Tucker's school. Wasn't it just Monday??

For the challenge we had to use quote strips, brads and striped patterned paper, and the theme was "What we say every day". I did my layout about something I do say everyday, but I say it in a text to Clayton during Tucker's lunch time. (One of the perks of having your hubby work at your son's school) I hope I can find some more time for scrapping this weekend, starting tonight!

What a great weekend!
Truly a Southern California weather weekend. Just warm enough for shorts, but not too hot for a day at the park. Perfect! I fit in some time for little bit of scrapping... Here's one from Gracie's First Birthday.

This is such a cute pic of my mom & dad in-law, being silly hanging on the back of their camper.They are the best in-law's a girl could have. Love them! We have a trip planned with them again this summer to Montana, Wyoming and Yellowstone. (Guess I better hurry and finish the album from last summer's vacation!)
I also went to the Flea Market this weekend. I found some vintage Hobnail Milk Glass to add to my collection.Yep, it was a great weekend!

As you can see in the journaling, I've never been a big fan of late night TV, but I did watch Conan's last show, and I LOVED when he said this.

Remember the Paper Lace Border Tutorial I shared with you HERE? Well, here's the layout I made with that cute little border.I love the look of a custom made-to-match embellishment. I also love the story about Gracie's "Butterfly Tattoo."
And, I'm really LOVING the weather here in good 'Ol So Cal today!!!

{Monday}

I'm finally among the living again. I've been sick since last Wednesday, and am tired of "drinking plenty of liquids and getting plenty of rest" as the doctor suggested. Today is the first day I've even picked up my paper trimmer. Yep, that sick. Here's what I made after picking up that paper trimmer, a layout about Tucker's field trip to Mission San Juan Capistrano. I even did a little sewing around the edges. Suddenly I felt much better!

This came in the mail today, and is my official Photo of the Day (yep, I'm still taking a photo everyday!)

And this delivery surely helped in my recovery. I love me some Kraft cardstock!

Off to do a little more recovering, via some paper and glue ;)

{Paper Lace Border Tutorial}

Scallops, doilies and lace are so popular in scrapbooking right now, such a fun new trend! Here's a quick and easy way to make your own Paper Lace Border. I used the Martha Stewart Flower Bed Border Punch. (My fave!)

1. Start with a strip of paper. Mine was 3" by 12"

2. Punch strip of paper from end to end
3. Using a straight stitch, sew along the unpunched edge, pleating as you go. Sew from one end to the other.Now you have your own Custom Paper Lace Border! I can't wait to use this on my next layout!

{The Weekend}

Here's a layout I came up with yesterday morning. I wrote to Gracie on the back of the layout about her first time in the snow. Too much to fit on the front, so I included all the important details on the back. Such a fun day!

{Thursday} Layouts and Q & A

Here's a few layouts I've finished this week.

And now answers to a few emails I've received recently.
1. I usually only spend about 30 minutes on a layout. (Unless I'm scrapbooking with friends, then sometimes it can take FOREVER...to much talking and laughing I guess)

2. I can't say I have 1 favorite manufacturer. There are so many great companies out there right now, I have about 10 favorites. LOL

3. Yes I am still doing Project 365/Project Life. I usually print pictures 1 day a week and then do most of my journaling then. Also, for Chelsey...my week goes from Monday through Sunday. I know some people started theirs with Sunday, but for me I always think of Monday as the first day of the week. (either would work though!)

4. Cardstock...I like Bazzill. I have used a few other brands, but Bazzill is my fave. I like the heavy weight, and the texture.

5. Yes I use Photoshop. I've been shooting in RAW for awhile now, so I usually do some editing. Once in awhile you get a great photo straight out of the camera, but most of the time I play with it a bit. CS4 is the version I currently use.
