{Sweet Summertime}

I liked the design of the "First Baseball Game" layout so much, I copied it to make this Sweet Summertime layout. Perfect for pics of Gracie playing with the hose.

The past few days have been a kind of quite around here since we are minus one child. Tucker stayed at Grandpa and Grandma's to spend the week with them after we came home from our trip up there. They've taken him to Monterey for a few days to visit the  Monterey Bay Aquarium and sailing. Today they are spending the day swimming with the cousins. He is having so much fun! Gracie is loving all the extra attention, but still goes to his room and calls for him. We all sure miss him!

 And yes, we have safely returned from our trip. No rattlesnake sightings, but we did have a run-in with a field mouse  that was trying to escape the heat. It didn't bother Grandpa, Grandma or Daddy too much since they are all used to living out in the country, but Gracie and I weren't  too thrilled that the mouse wanted to share a room with us. More on that story another day ;)

Here's Gracie on the 4th of July. She looked so cute in her red, white and blue! The papers from Best Creation's "I Love America" collection were perfect for this!

We're off to spend a few days at Grandpa and Grandma's. We're excited to go, but not so excited about the 100 degree heat. At least when it's that hot we don't have to worry about rattlesnakes during the day. Yep, I said rattlesnakes.

This photo is 20 years old. It's my two oldest boys, and is one of my favorite photos of them when they were little. Oh how I would love to know what they were giggling about :)

I found this super cute house paper and thought it would be perfect for a layout about our home.

 I added a little photo I took the day we closed escrow 6 years ago. Yet another layout that makes me happy I'm a scrapbooker and memory keeper.

{When Two Worlds Collide}

Gracie love to play dress up. She also idolizes her 10 year old Star Wars loving brother. What do you get when you combine the two??

It's our very own version of a Cinderella Star Wars princess. I love this age where everything is all about pretending and dressing up. **and yes, I went back and added the date to the layout as soon as realized I had forgotten :)

1,120 photos later, we are back from a week in Sacramento.  Some of those 1,120 photos were taken here...

(it's the California State Capitol for those of you out of state)

We had a great time and found some really fun things to do. Now I just need to find the time to scrapbook all those 1,120 photos.

Well, that and do a weeks worth of laundry ;)

{ahhhh Summer}

Summer is in full force at our house, which hasn't left much time for playing with paper and glue. Here is my 1 and only layout to share.

I Love that the Girl's Paperie paper has the "vintage" look to it. Perfect for pics of Gracie after a day playing outside in the dirt at Grandpa and Grandma's.
And, some photos of what's been keeping us so busy...
The Cerritos College Community Band concert. A great night of music!!

I love watching the band play, but it's still so funny to see Tucker in the middle of the other band members. He's so little compared to the rest of them. He absolutely loves playing his sax!  The band also played in the "Let Freedom Ring" celebration on the 4th for the city of Cerritos.

I took lots of pics that day, but you can't see Tucker in any of them  lol.  Remember the part about him being so little?? I barely got the top of his head in most of the photos.  I did get a few of this girl though as she danced to the music.

It was the perfect way to spend the 4th!

{Wednesday}

We had a great 4th! Tons of photos were taken, hot dogs and funnel cakes eaten, Tucker was a rock star playing his sax, and the fireworks were awesome! I bought some super cute 4th of July paper yesterday at Scrapbook Daisies, so I'm all set to start working on the pics! Speaking of Scrapbook Daisies, here is a 2 page layout I made as a kit for the store.

2 pagers aren't my first choice to make ; ) so I sometimes kind of struggle with them. But this one turned out pretty cute!  The kit will be available for purchase at the store soon, with everything already cut and ready to go!

Well, we're off for a day of adventure...I'm sure more photos will be taken!

celebrating : tomorrow Tucker will play his sax with the Cerritos College Community Band at the 38th annual "Let Freedom Ring Celebration." He can't wait!

doing : everything I can to keep cool in this So CA heat wave.

pondering : a scrapbook on the road album for our upcoming trip to Sacramento/State Capitol. Or should I just take pics and scrap them when I get home as usual?

How has your week been?
Ours has been busy, busy, busy, but filled with fun and memories with Grandpa and Grandma visiting from out of town. There hasn't been a much time for scrapbooking, but I do have a layout that I made for Scrapbook Daisies a few weeks back.

(papers - Little Yellow Bicycle, alpha letters - Bella Blvd., cardstock - Bazzill, rhinestones, trim)
I punched the clouds, added pop-dots to a few, did some machine stitching, and added rhinestones to look like raindrops. Yet another layout using Kraft colored cardstock. By the way, do any of you know of a 12 step program for Kraft cardstock?? {laugh}  I just can't seem to get enough of it.
