{a Piece of My Heart}

It's reveal day again at Sketchabilities!
Here's my layout...

And here's the sketch...

I flipped the sketch and used one large photo, and then one small photo with a cluster of embellishments in place of the two smaller photos. I was proud of myself for using the 6, 1 and 07 stickers. I was 14 when I wrote my initials in our freshly poured driveway, and yep, the stickers add up to 14 ;)  Be sure to head over to the Sketchabilities blog and check out what the rest of the Design Team did. {December Daily}

I've officially started working on my December Daily. How fun will this page be as we go through the month!?

I punched some stars and snowballs, added a few gems and chipboard snowflakes then stitched the sides closed.  The best part...the plastic page is a piece of the outside covering from an album I bought this week. I usually just throw them away since I don't store my albums with the cover on them, but for some reason I kept this one and now I'm so glad I did!
I have a few other pages in the works, but for now I'm just making the base pages so that each day I can add a photo and embellishments.
Oh, and for my friends that aren't scrapbookers, or have never heard of a December Daily, it is a little mini album that became popular to do a few years back. Each day of December you take a picture of something from the day. It can be pics of your family decorating the Christmas tree, a night you drove around to look at Christmas lights or something as simple as a photo of the drive-thru at McDonald's because your day was so busy that's all you had time for ;) This will be my second year making one, and I can't wait 'till Thursday to start adding photos. Can you even believe Thursday is December 1st???

{Sketchy Sunday}

The Paper Bakery has a new sketch challenge, so I thought I would play along!  Here's the layout I came up with:

(grid paper: Making Memories, date stickers: Jenni Bowlin, everything else Echo Park)
and here's the sketch I used.

I turned the sketch upside down, and printed my 6 photos to look like little photo strips like you get out of a photo booth. I hand stitched the number 3 with some embroidery floss. Love that little extra the stitching adds! Taking Gracie to the party store to pick out plates and napkins for her 3rd birthday party was quite the day, and was way too much of a story to fit on front of the layout. I wrote a letter to her on the back about how the minute she saw the Strawberry Shortcake plates she wanted them, and even though we looked at all the rows of party supplies, 2 times, she never changed her mind. I also wrote about finding this cute little ribbon for her to wear on her shirt the day of her birthday, but she didn't quite understand and wanted to wear it as soon as we got home, and everyday for the next 2 weeks ;)

{Give Thanks}

It's less than a week until Thanksgiving, and I have everything all ready. Well, this fun little project anyway.

With a mix of papers, alpha letters, stickers and twine, I have our Give Thanks box that is all ready for everyone to take a cute little tag and write what they are thankful for.

The day after Thanksgiving I'll be adding photos to more tags, to fill our Give Thanks box. I can't wait to see it complete!

{Sketchabilities #59 and some Exciting News!}

Today is reveal day for a new Sketchabilities sketch!

As you can see, I turned the sketch upside down, and used a little bit of everything on this one, mixing and matching papers from different manufacturers. I love doing that! I reprinted some of the pics of me and Santa that I used on this project. I wanted to have those same photos on a layout for when Christmas is over and I add new pics to the frame.

{Random}

*First up, a layout I made with random scraps that were on my scrapbook table. I think there are products from 8 different manufacturers :)

I hand stitched "hello". I love the texture it adds!

*Random #2 - Today is my hubby's birthday. He is the most amazing man, and I can't imagine my life without him. He makes me laugh 'till I cry, and when I'm crying makes me laugh. He works so hard for our family, and is such an awesome Daddy. I didn't think there really was such a thing as Prince Charming, but I was lucky to find mine. Happy birthday honey!

*Random #3 - Friday is a holiday, so as soon as school is out Thursday, we are headed for my inlaw's for the long weekend.  Can't wait to be at their house having dinner, on the side of a mountain, over looking the lake. Love spending time with them!

 *Random #5 - Gracie turns 3 on Sunday. I can't believe how fast my baby girl is growing up. She is the sweetest, silliest thing there is. She picked out Strawberry Shortcake plates, napkins and don't forget the party hats. We've been counting down the days on a special birthday calendar, and the time is just not passing quickly enough for her! She wants pink roller skates, and watercolor paints. lol 

*Random #6 - I am officially registered for CHA. For those of you that aren't scrapbookers, that's the Craft & Hobby Association trade show that will be back in Anaheim in January. It's where all the new products are introduced, and is heaven for a scrapbooker. I.can.not.wait!!

{Winter Wonderland}
