{Wednesday}

I've been busy playing with paper and glue. Unfortunately I can't share any of it quite yet. I do have this card I made for the Paper Bakery that I can show you.
I don't make a whole lot of cards. I'm much more comfortable when it's 12x12.  They are quick and fun to make though!

I hope you've had a wonderful Leap Day. Not quite a holiday, but a day that stands out on the calendar. Maybe I should make a Leap Day card?  ;)

As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Sketch #309}

I've got a layout up over at Sketch Inspiration.
The Paper Bakery is this weeks sponsor, so all of us on the Paper Bakery Design Team got to play along.
Here's the sketch:
You should play along too, you could win a $20.00 gift certificate to the Paper Bakery. Wouldn't that be fun to have that to spend!!

Oh, and I have a proud momma moment to share. Yesterday Tucker was in the Los Angeles County Science Olympiad at Occidental College with 14 other students from his school. There were 48 schools that competed, and he and his team came home with silver medals!! We are so proud of Tucker and his teammates!

{Scrapbook Love}

Loved these papers as soon as I saw them.
The woodgrain, the doilie banners, swoon.
Love this old photo.
A perfect match.
Love that my local store now has the layout on display.

(papers, embellishments and twine: My Minds Eye)
Not loving what Blogger is doing to the photos. Click on the pics to see the un-blurry version.

Have an awesome day, and as always, thanks so much for stopping by.

{My Minds Eye}

Today I've got a layout to share that I made for Scrapbook Daisies using the brand new Miss Caroline collection from My Mind's Eye!

(alpha letters: American Crafts and My Little Shoebox, everything else My Minds Eye)
I love the look of the weathered wood paper, and the gray color was very fitting since the sky was so gray in our photos. This was one of our favorite days of the vacation even though within minutes of taking this pic, it was hailing like I've never seen before, and we were all soaked by the time we got to the car. Those are the times memories are made though, and we still talk about "that" day at Mount St. Helens and how much fun we had.

As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by!

{Everyday Inspiration}

I've got a new layout over on the Imaginisce blog today! My challenge was to create a project using inspiration from something in everyday life. My first place to look for inspiration...a magazine. Not the projects in the magazine, but the ads. As soon as I saw this ad, the wheels started spinning.
Right away I noticed the pillows lined up in rows, and the blue borders at the top and bottom of the page. I decided to keep those same designs, and translated that into this layout.
papers -Imaginisce Sole Sisters collection and Pop-up Posies, alpha stickers: Doodlebug, cardstock: Bazzill, punch: Martha Stewart for EK Success
All of the other projects I've made using the Sole Sisters collection have focused on the bright reds and black, so this was fun to make a baby layout that was very soft and pastel.
There will be more inspiration on the Imaginisce Blog this week, so be sure to stop by and check it out :)  As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Saturday}

Here's a layout I made with the February add on kit from the Paper Bakery. This is currently my most favorite layout ;)
A little back story...
About a year ago my Dad-in-law gave me all of the photos/photo albums from the Jenkins side of the family.  (yes, how awesome is that!!) Imagine my surprise when I started looking through the photos and found not one, but three pictures of Great-Great Grandma Jenkins, who was known to be a bit feisty and quite opinionated, in a stance that was all to familiar. I don't know if attitude can be inherited, but I think I figured out where Gracie gets her sass ;)
As always, thanks for stopping by.

Food Trucks

After watching "The Great Food Truck Race" on TV, we really wanted to give one of the food trucks a try, and couldn't pass it up when we heard some would be at a local high school.
(made with the February add-on kit from The Paper Bakery)
We tried food from 3 of the different trucks, and had such a fun time that night tasting and sharing our favorites.

We have gone food trucking quite a few more times since that night, each time finding a new favorite, but I'm glad I had my camera with me that very first night to capture those memories!

Paper Bakery February Reveal

The 15th is finally here, and that means it's reveal day at The Paper Bakery, and I get to share one of the fun projects I made with the "Grandma's Attic" add-on kit.
I made this cute little frame to go in Gracie's room, since this is the Great Grandma she is named after. The pinks, greens and vintage look match her room perfectly! This is one of the unfinished wood frames you can buy at many craft stores for $1.00. With a coat of white paint, and a bit of fussy cutting of some of the papers, everything came together so easily. I love the photo added to the outside of the frame for a bit of a 3D effect!
Here's what's included in the "Grandma's Attic" kit, and as you can see, I still had a lot left over to play with!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another fun project to share!

Imaginisce & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog Hop!

Today is Day 2 of the Imaginisce & Scrapbook Adhesives Bog Hop, and my lucky day to share a project I made!  This fun little picture is for my friend Jessica's cute red, black and white scrapbook room. I know she is going to love it when she sees it here on my blog today!
Since this will be hanging on the wall, I wanted a really strong adhesive. The Crafty Power Tape was perfect to use to adhere everything together, including the medallions.

I then added 3D Foam Squares for a little extra dimension to the "J" and to add the flowers to the centers of the medallions for a little extra pop.

I've been using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for my paper crafting for quite some time, (you all know I'm always using foam squares for that extra 3D look) but I honestly didn't know until this week that they have been around for over 40 years. Wow!

As always, thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the Imaginisce Blog and 3L Blog the rest of the week for even more inspiration. Oh, and have a Happy Valentine's Day too!

{Monday, Monday}

I don't usually look forward to Monday, but since it's a school holiday, bring it on!  And...speaking of school, here's a layout I made for Tucker's school album (and Scrapbook Daisies too!) using Echo Park's A Boy's Life collection
(alpha letters: My Little Shoebox, everything else Echo Park)
This was such a fun night, definitely a highlight for 6th grade!
I think I might try to get in a little scrapping time today. How about you??

{Best Day Ever}

Here's another layout I made for Scrapbook Daisies using the super cute Daydreams collection from American Crafts.
(cardstock: Bazzill, everything else American Crafts)
Don't you just love those sweet little owls!
I hope you have a great weekend that involves a little scrapping time:)
As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Thursday}

Today I have a layout I made with the February "Grandma's Attic" add-on kit from The Paper Bakery Kit Club.

I used the cute month tag from the kit as my starting point, and used it as a pattern for the photo and papers.
I love this pic of my hubby, it's so very him. No matter how long he has lived here in the city, he is still a country cowboy at heart ;)

I hope you're having a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

{Imaginisce Love Week}

It's "love" week over at the Imaginisce Blog. Each day is a different feature, yesterday there were beautiful cards, today are some fab layouts, and there's even some home decor and mini albums coming up!!

For my "love" project, I created this layout.
I did a little machine stitching on the paper strip collage around the heart. After I finished the layout last week, I had it sitting with some of our other Valentines Day decor, and after looking at it for a few days, I just wasn't happy with the title. I ended up changing things, and adding the letter stickers. I'm happy with the layout now, and it's back out on display. Gracie has loved seeing this photo, but keeps insisting that can't be her since that baby has short brown hair and she has long blond hair ;)

Be sure to stop by the Imaginisce blog to see what the design team has created each day, they're even doing some giveaways!! Woo-hoo!!
As always, thanks for stopping by.

{A layout and more CHA pics!}

First up, a layout I made for Scrapbook Daisies.
(cardstock: Bazzill Basics, alpha letters: Making Memories, twine: The Twinery, stick pin: Pink Paislee everything else American Crafts)
I cut out some of the clouds, then added adhesive foam squares. I love the added dimension it gives, without making the layout too bulky.

And now...a few more pics from CHA (click on the photos to see them up close!)
Loved the new collections from GCD Studios!

I had a little fun playing in the booth too ;)

Pink Paislee had a beautiful booth to show off their beautiful new collections,

One product I was really excited to see was the  i-magic ribbon cutter. It cuts and seals the edges of your ribbon all at the same time. No more fraying!
I know Imaginisce will be sending me one soon to use with my design team work, but after seeing it in person, I can't wait!! The best part, it's powered by 4 AA batteries!!

Prima (of course) had beautiful papers and flowers, and their samples are amazing!!!

Heidi Swapp is back! Her booth wasn't huge like it used to be years ago, but she does have a few things that caught my eye.

In between all the scrapbooking crazyness, I saw Tori Spelling introduce her new jewelry collection. I was a big 90210 fan way back when, so ya I had to stop and watch ;)

Crate Paper = Love!

Studio Calico has some great masks for misting and inking.

Ruby Rock-It is an Australian company that is fairly new to the states. Cute things!!

I know there are at least 8 companies that I got so busy chatting in their booth that I completely forgot to take pictures, so I don't have those to share ;) I really had a great time though! I met friends that I'd only "known" online, met new friends that were like kindred spirits, and caught up with old friends that I've missed so much.  Now I can't wait for all these wonderful things to arrive in the stores!! I've got my paper trimmer and I'm all ready to start creating!
As always, thanks for stopping by.
