{Such a Joy!}

Today I've got a layout to share that I made for  Scrapbook Daisies.
I love the new "Follow Your Heart" collection from My Minds Eye, and thought it would be perfect for these pics of Gracie. She truly is a joy! Well, 99.9% percent of the time, except for the moments like today when she told the lady at the park that her pants didn't match her shirt. Now to be honest, her blue and green plaid pants and red and white striped shirt did not match, but Miss G and I had a little chat on the way home about how we do not tell people things like that, and that if the lady wanted to wear those clothes, that it was her choice. Three year olds do make everyday fun, and for sure a new adventure!!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Monday, Monday}

Happy Monday Friends!  Today I've got a layout I made using the "Antique Garden" kit from the Paper Bakery.
I love the Polaroid inspired paper and had fun cutting out the area where a photo would be, then adding in my own pics or patterned paper from the kit.
For the cute banner, I added pieces of a journaling tag, a wood pennant I covered with a bit of the My Minds Eye paper, and some twine to make the banner that's printed on the patterned paper look a little more 3-dimensional.
I love adding that extra dimension!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

{Happy Saturday Friends}

Today I have a card to share that I made completely from scraps.
(all papers and twine: The Paper Bakery March add-on kit)
I've never professed to be a card maker, layouts are more my thing, but I love when I can use scraps and left over pieces to make something fun!

Enjoy your Saturday, do you have any scrapping plans for today?

{If You Were Here Today}

Hello friends!  Today I have a layout to share using the March add-on kit from the Paper Bakery and an old black & white. You all know how much I love the old b & w's!!
This was my Grandma back when she used to model for Bullocks department store.  I can remember going to fashion shows when I was a little girl, watching here walk down the runway. I loved that she would wave as she turned, knowing that special wave was just for me.

Sometimes she would get to keep the clothes and accessories she wore, this outfit was one of them, and of course my grandpa had to take a picture as soon as she was home. Oh the memories, and how I wish she was still here today.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Tuesday}

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I've got a layout over on the Imaginise blog today for day 2 of i-Magicut intensive week.
(paper: Imaginisce, alphas: American Crafts, Twine: The Twinery, ribbon)
For this layout, I used the i-Magicut Ribbon Cutter for the very first time, and love*love*love that it not only cuts the ribbon, but seals it too.
To get the "pennant" style cut on the cute little ribbon banner, I folded the ribbon in half, held it in place as I closed the i-Magicut, then pressed the button for just a few seconds. Quick and easy, the ribon was cut, edges were sealed, and the best part, no more frayed ribbon!!

Be sure to check out the Imaginisce blog everyday this week for inspiration. The Design Team is sharing some fabulous projects, and you could win your very own i-Magicut Ribbon Cutter!!

As always, thanks for stopping by,

{Happy Sunday}

It's cold and rainy here in So Cali, so to brighten up the day I have a layout I made using some Spring photos along with the Spring Fling collection from Teresa Collins.
(alpha letters: Bella Blvd., cardstock: Bazzill, everything else: Teresa Collins)
I can't believe these pics are from two years ago. It seems like time is moving so fast. Gracie was so little here, trying to smell the flowers.

This week I bought Gracie a pack of children's safety scissors. There's regular scissors, but also two pair of decorative edge scissors. (think 80's scrapbooking) She wasn't with me when I bought them at Target, so I surprised her when I got home. The girl has hardly put them down since then!
 I gave her a big pile of my scraps and she very precisely separated the "girl colors" from the "boy colors". I had to explain that it was ok for her to cut blue and green papers too, that it can't always be pink and purple ;)  Oh what a funny little thing she is, love her to bits!!
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your Sunday!

{A Layout to Share!}

I've got another new layout to share today!!
I made this one for Scrapbook Daisies, using the super cute "This & That" collection from Echo Park.
I love the earthy colors, and isn't that vintage camera sticker just too too cute! Perfect for this pic of Andrew at the Grand Canyon, way back in '96.

Well my friends, it's finally Friday and the weekend is here! I guess were supposed to have some rain coming our way here in So Cali. I've got plans for the flea market, so I'm hoping the rain just passes us by :)

As always, thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!

{Thank You! and a New Layout}

First up, thanks for all of  your sweet emails, comments here and on facebook about my GCD Studios Desgin Team announcement. You all make a girl feel loved :)

And now a layout to share...
I made this with the "Antique Garden add-on kit from The Paper Bakery.
One of my favorite things about this months kit is the fab My Minds Eye weathered wood papers, which worked perfectly for this photo from Santa Cruz. The paper reminds me of the old wooden planks of the boardwalk, and the red striped ribbon along with the fun little banner pieces and jumbled up twine are so reminiscent of the colorful banners that hang at each booth all along the boardwalk. That was such a fun trip, I can't believe it was almost 12 years ago. Makes me wish Summer would hurry up and get here!!  We are definitely counting down the days :)

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Today is the first day of the Makin' Waves Release Party over on the Imaginisce blog. I've got two projects I made with this super cute collection. First this layout about a day at the aquarium.
I also made this fun Countdown to Summer calendar. In our home we are always counting down to birthdays and holidays, so I thought why not count down the days 'till Summer!
I made a pocket to go on the back that holds all the extra numbers. Today we're at day 97. I'm sure hoping the time goes by fast!  Be sure to stop by the Imaginisce blog to see all the fab Makin' Waves projects every day this week, they're also giving away a Makin' Waves collection pack!!

{View from the Top}

Here's a layout I made for Scrapbook Daisies using the new "On the Bright Side" collection from My Minds Eye.
Isn't the orange weathered wood paper just so cool! I love it mixed with the denim paper.
I'm slowly getting these photos from our '09 vacation scrapped. Let's don't talk about 2010 or 2011 vacation photos.

**Tucker arrived home yesterday from his week at Outdoor Science Camp proclaiming he had an awesome time, and that camp had the best food he had ever eaten, even the vegetables. I've already sent an email to the chef at the camp demanding to know how the heck he got the boy to a. eat vegetables, and b. like them. I haven't heard back from the miracle worker yet ;)

Enjoy your Saturday, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

{Happy Friday!}

It's finally Friday! Can I get a woo-hoo!!
To celebrate, I have a little piece of home decor to share with you.
I found this sweet little wooden birdhouse at a local craft store, and used the "Antique Garden"  March add-on kit from the Paper Bakery to dress it up a bit.

After a quick coat of white paint, I added the pretty My Minds Eye doily paper to the roof, and shredded some of the left over scraps to look like a little nest peeking out. The “Follow Your Heart” banner is part of the bar code strip on one of the papers ;)
I cut out one of the small flower doilies, and added it with a few flowers I made from the patterned papers, along with the pretty yellow lattice paper to the sides. For an extra added touch, I couldn’t resist adding the clear glass knob to the front for the perch. Right now I have my sweet little birdhouse sitting in our kitchen window, waiting for spring to arrive!

Oh, and the best part about this Friday...
Tucker comes home from his week at Outdoor Science Camp!! Gosh I've missed that boy.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Imaginisce & Core'dinations Blog Hop Week!}

There's a fun blog hop going on this week over on the Imaginisce and Core'dinations blogs. Hop on by both blogs each day to see all the wonderful projects everyone has made. There's so much inspiration!

This honestly was my first time using Core'dinations cardstock, and I must say I love how bright and brilliant the colors are and what beautiful texture it has! I'm hooked!
(cadstock: Cor'dinations, everything else Imaginisce)
For the bracket shape, I traced around an old piece of patterned paper (that was already that cute shape) onto the cardstock, then cut it out by hand. I machine stitched it to the paper for a fun custom look. I added a few strips of paper and embellishments from the Imaginisce Hippity Hop Collection. The day dreaming die cut was just perfect for this photo I took of Gracie day dreaming as she watched the cheerleaders ; ) Oh, and I can't forget to mention this, I backed my photo and the 3-D journaling with the packaging from the die cuts!

 Be sure to head over to the Imaginisce and Core'dinations blogs, they're doing some great giveaways!
As always, thanks for stopping by.

{The House that Love Built}

I've got a family history layout to share today.
(papers: Fancy Pants Designs, alpha letters: My Little Shoebox and Bella Blvd., date sticker: October Afternoon, thread DMC)
You all know I love old black & white photos, and since I was going to be hand stitching right through the photo, I copied the original and used my 1990's decorative scissors to trim the edges to give them a 1940's look. The cute Home Sweet Home paper already had a distressed look to it, so other than stitching the heart (which did take some time) this was a quick and easy layout to make.

Switching from scrapbooker to mom...
Tucker left this morning for outdoor science camp. All the kids were so excited as the bus pulled away from school! He took his camera, along with a memory card that holds over 900 photos. I can't wait to see the pics he comes home with and hear all the stories he has to tell ;) I know he is going to have an awesome time this week, but I'm missing him already.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world-wide-web.
