{one hundred thousand, oh and a little giveaway too!}

A little over 5 years ago I decided to start a blog. I thought it would be fun to share a scrapbook page here and there. I didn't know if anyone would ever stop by my little space on the world wide web, but one by one you did, and one by one you came back to say hello. As I saw the number of visits reach 100,000, I couldn't help but smile.

As a thank you, I thought I would do a little giveaway...an Amy Tangerine mini book and a set of her Remarks stickers.
Just leave your first name, city and state, (or country!) and I'll draw a winner Sunday night.
As always, thanks for stopping by and thanks for 100,000

{San Fran: Day 2}

It's numbers week over on the GCD Studios blog, and today I have a layout to share that focuses not only on the photos, but a number too! This was day 2 on our trip to San Francisco, and I picked a few of our favorite activities from that day to highlight.

I did a bit of fussy cutting for the clouds, then added a little machine stitching for just a bit of texture.
I love the colors in this one, and love how quick and easy it came together!

{Country Fair}

I've got a new layout up on the Paper Bakery blog using "Country Fair", the August add-on kit.

I love the Basic Grey pins & tags set, included in the kit, and think they look pretty cute layered and added to the flower!

I'm excited about this layout I made...it's for a class that will be taught at a company you may have heard of...Honda.  It's a 2 page layout for their scrapbooking club.

Monster Mash

It's "Monster Mash" week over on the Imaginisce blog and I have 2 projects to share. First up, a little Halloween decor!
To make the cute witches hat, I rolled the 12x12 paper into a cone shape, then cut off the excess edge from the bottom so it would sit level. I added the cone to a small circle cut from matching paper, then adhered to a larger black cardstock circle. I embellished the front of the hat, and added the flying bat with a pipe-cleaner

I also made this layout to remember the year Tucker was Harry Potter.
I die cut the chevron/zig zag designs directly from my base paper using my cricut, then backed it with a coordinating paper. I also cut a small chevron design and added it in between the larger shapes. I did a little layering of the Ghoulish Delights Die Cuts at the corner of my photo, then added the funny little  flying bat. A small piece of foam tape behind his wings will keep the dimension even after the layout is in my scrapbook

{Back 2 School}

I have this layout up on the Imaginisce blog, for "Back 2 School week".
I used my Cricut to cut the title from the photo and backed it with a coordinating paper.

A 2 sticker for second grade :)
And with this layout, I am officially caught up on Tuckers school album!! Perfect timing since the first day of school is just over two weeks away. I still can't believe my baby boy is starting middle school.

{Jr. Rangers}

Here's a fun layout I created for the GCD Studios blog about Tucker and his Grandma receiving their Jr. Ranger badges in Grand Teton National Park. I took a few photos during the "swearing in ceremony" and after we were home from vacation, I didn't want his badge to get lost in a drawer somewhere, so I added it to a layout along with the photos.
The ranger station we were in that day had a beautiful photo of a sunset on the wall. To add a bit of color and texture to my layout, I added strips of papers and machine stitched a circle onto the cardstock for my own sunset design.
Another completed layout for the vacation album!

{Splash!}

It's water week over on the GCD Studios blog, and today I have this fun layout to share. I knew I wanted to use the color blue since after all, this is about water, but with the bright pink pool and the turquoise & green bathing suit, I needed to throw in those colors too!

Although all four of the papers have completely different patterns, they all have the perfect color scheme for my photo which instantly draws them together.
I added some very simple machine stitching, and a few arrows/triangles that are a big trend in scrapbooking right now, along with a sticker title and handwritten date. A quick and easy layout, but a memory recorded.

{home again}

We came home from a visit up to my mom and dad in-laws, and headed straight to the beach to spend the day. Since last summer, after reading on Suzy's blog about this cool tower, I have wanted to go and take pictures.

I only "know" Suzy from her blog, and when I emailed her last year and asked her where this photo spot was, she was sweet enough to send me very detailed directions. I kept that email, and added it to our Bucket List for 2012.  So today, as I am standing taking pictures at this beautiful sight, who do I run into but Suzy herself! For those of you that aren't in the scrapbooking world and don't know Suzy Plantamura, read her blog posts for the past month about having brain surgery. Quite an amazing woman!

Oh, and just to keep you all updated,  My mom in-law finished her last round of chemo, and although she had a reaction this time (apparently it makes a difference in what order your "chemo cocktail" of meds are given in) overall she is doing really well. Next up is radiation. Thanks again for remembering her in your thoughts and prayers.

{the Good and the Bad}

The Good:
Sometime last December, I set a goal to complete 100 layouts in 2012. Calculating it all out, it was roughly 2 layouts a week and even if I came close, I would be happy.

Fast forward to yesterday, the last day of July, I counted to see how I've done so far. I even counted twice. The official number...92 layouts complete! Woo-hoo!

The Bad:
Apparently I've just been making the layouts, and haven't been too good about putting them into albums.
Oh well, life can't be all sunshine and unicorns ;)
Off to buy a few new albums to fill.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
