{Just for Fun}

A layout just for fun, just for me. Circa 1969
I added the journaling to the back of this one. Lots to write about how I loved going fishing with my grandparents when I was a little girl.

Even though I loved fishing, I was still very much a girly-girl, so I added the doily for a little bit girliness ;)

{you are loved}

Here's a layout a made a few months back for CHA, but never had a chance to share it here ;)  Grey and yellow is such a hot combination right now, add in a lovely shade of pink and wow!  I love the mix of  patterns, especially the big cabbage roses.

{The Paper Bakery & Elle's Studio...Mixing Up Inspiration!}

Here's a new layout that's up on the Paper Bakery blog today for a team up with Elle's Studio.
One of my favorite new Elle’s products is the 12×12 papers. As soon as I saw this cute chevron design from the Day to Day collection, I fell in love! I paired it with the smaller red chevron paper from the You & Me collection and a circle & tab card (also by Elle’s Studio!) and then added some of the fun exclusive Paper Bakery items like the darling milk cap flair and the cute cherries card from the “Soda Shop” kit.
I love the vintage feel of the layout, and the Studio Calico chevron wood veneer were perfect to “point out” the old black & white photo from the 40′s.

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate the visit!

{an Easter Greeting}

Can you believe Easter is just a few weeks away! Here's a sweet little Easter card I made for the sketch challenge over at Pretty Little Studio.

And here's the fun sketch. As you can see, the sketch was made for a layout, but can be used just as easily for a card too!
To start, I machine stitched the beautiful houndstooth patterned paper to my cardstock base. I wanted to use a tag since tags were a big part of the sketch, so I set the tag off to the left side of my card, in place of where a photo is shown on the sketch.
Next I added a strip of the pretty yellow plaid to represent the largest stripe, then the best part, I added the cute little chick to represent the title area from the sketch.

Sketches can be fun to use, and definitely can be helpful if you run into a creative block. Why not give the sketch challenge at Pretty Little Studio a try! There are no rules, and you can submit any project with any kind of product. One person will be randomly be chosen to win a $10 coupon to the Pretty Little Studio store. Challenge ends on March 25th

{a New Layout to Share!}

Here's a new layout that's up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today.
Isn't the cute little archer boy just perfect with these photos! I love it!
Tucker has wanted a bow and arrow for the longest time, way before the Hunger Games. I think it was more like from when he used to watch the Disney version of Robin Hood when he was little ;)

{Cut File, part 2)

When I shared this layout and said I had made one for each of my kids using that cut file, you though I was kidding didn't you? Well I wasn't!!
Here is version #2 (out of 4!) that's out on display right now at Scrapbook Daisies, my local scrapbook store...
I made the layout the same way, cutting my background first, then cutting 2" strips of each of the patterned papers, and filling in each section as I came to it with pieces from the 2" strips.
These two layouts will go in two totally separate scrapbooks, so I don't mind using a design I really like more than once ;) Do you ever make more than one of the same style layout?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

{explore}

***Be sure to check out the My Minds Eye blog today I have a layout up !!!!***

Hi friends, here's a new layout that has one of my most favorite cuts from the Silhouette store! I saw something similar to this on Pinterest, and wanted to give it a try too. I may or may not have already made a layout for each of my kids with it ;)
I used the "Days of the Week" kit from the Paper Bakery which has my favorite, My Minds Eye, the pretty American crafts gold dot vellum, and the cute anchor paper by Glitz Designs. Don't you just love it!
After cutting the arrow background with my Silhouette, I cut 2" strips of each of the various patterned papers. As I came to each section I wanted to fill, I would cut a small piece from one of the 2" strips and glue it down. It took a little bit of time to fill the background, but I love how it turned out!

{hello}

Here's a cute little card I made for Love My Tapes.
I added the washi tape to the top and bottom of the card, and machine stitched right over it. The "hello" was cut with a Silhouette Cameo (how did we ever scrapbook before the Silhouette??)  and then I added the sweet little mason jar full of love.
(paper:My Minds Eye, mason jar die cut: American Crafts: Washi: Love My Tapes)
A quick and easy little card for days when you have 1 less hour in your day ;) What's up with that anyway? I love having it stay light later in the day, but I'm already looking forward to Fall to get that hour back!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

{True Friends}

Hi friends, today I have a layout that I made for Scrapbook Daisies using the new True Friends collection from Carta Bella.
I love the vintage yet modern look of the papers and cute stickers. So very perfect for pictures of my girl and her babies!
No matter where we go, there is always one or two (and most of the time three and four) babies that come along with us. Seriously, it's quite impossible for her to leave the house with out a doll of some sort ;) I love this age and sometimes wish she could stay 4 forever!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, the weekend is almost here, do enjoy!

{Color Challenge}

Welcome back friends! Today I have a layout to share that I made for the Pretty Little Studio color challenge. First up the challenge photo:
As I gathered my supplies for this months color challenge, I knew I wanted to use green, pink and blue for sure because those colors definitely stood out in the photo of the sweet little birthday cake. I also wanted to use some sort of a stripe, a little bit of gold and something similar to that beautiful lacey looking cake plate. Add those all together, and here's what I came up with!
I used the Surprise Paper Ribbons for my green, pink and blue stripes and a doily I cut on my Silhouette that's similar to the fancy cake plate.

I wanted little bits of gold on my layout too, like the centers of the fondant flowers on the cake, but I didn't have any little gold pearls, so I had to get creative!! I started with plain white pearls, and by adding a touch of gold from a paint pen and a layer of gold Stickles, I had my own custom gold pearls!
Here are the pearls with the first layer from the gold paint pen. They look pretty just like this!
And here they are with the gold Stickles, bright and glittery! It took about 30 minutes for the Stickles to dry before I could add them to my layout.
I love the look of just that little touch of gold!
Just think of all the custom colors you could make to match your layouts and cards!

{the Fire Station}

Hi friends, today is my very first "official post" on the Pretty Little Studio blog, and I'm so happy to be able to share it with you!
As soon as I saw that cute little fireman, I knew I had the perfect photos from our trip to the fire station to go along with it!
Don't you just love the pretty yellow chevron paper!  I did a little machine stitching on the garland circles, and some hand stitching on the cute little arrows that were cut with my Silhouette machine.

{We Were Here}

I'm excited to share another layout today using the "Days of the Week" kit from The Paper Bakery! **Yes I know the photos are blurry. Blogger is not my friend today!
I love the cute map, geotag and "we were here" flair buttons ;)
It doesn't photograph too well on the kraft cardstock, but I sprayed a little of Heidi Swapp's new Gold Lame Color Shine. It adds such a beautiful shimmer of gold. I wish you could see how pretty it looks!!
Well, it's Monday again my friends. What fun things do you have planned for this week?
