I Adore You Heritage Layout | 3 Birds Studio

This heritage layout was up on the 3 Birds Studio blog last week, I love old black and white photos, and feel so blessed to have had relatives on both sides of my family tree that took pictures even when times were tough. This photo of my grandparents taken in 1938, was the start of a new beginning for them, having just moved from Arkansas to California in search of a better life.

I used patterned paper with a design that reminds me of a flower bouquet. I gave a bit of dimension to the “bouquet” by adding stickers from the Graceful Season 3D Embellishments Kit, some leaves from the Quilled Cardmaking Kit, and a pretty flower from my stash.

Below the photo I added more of the 3D Embellishments, a few die cut leaves, and a sweet little yellow bow.

Wow, this is beautiful! I love the way that you have all these highly dimensional embellishments but still manage to make the photo really stand out as the main focal point. Thanks for sharing!

PS: This is a great reminder that we should ask someone to take a family or couple pic of us on important days.

This is so beautiful Mary Ann, I love the colours you chose to go with the vintage photo, they are bright but no overwhelming the photo. Such a wonderful page for a family tree album!

Beautiful photo and a page to match. Yellow is a great mix with the B&W.

Beautiful layout, Mary Ann! I love how you added dimension by using some of the embellishments on the floral patterned paper!
