Adventure Awaits - Paper Issues

A new Issue is up over on the Paper Issue blog! This months theme is "Into the Woods", and I had the perfect photo to use from a camping trip in 2003.

I started with this cut file from the Silhouette store, and switched things around a bit by changing the title, moving the tree and tee-pee and eliminating the anchor. The wood grain paper pulls in the outdoor theme, and then those stars, well, those are for camping under the stars ;)  I especially liked how that chevron paper worked for the tee-pee!!!

Shape or Ship Out Challenge - Paper Issues

This past weekend was the Spring Crop over in the Paper Issues {friends & fans} Facebook group, and I made the sample layout for the "Shape Up or Ship Out" challenge. For this challenge, you were to use at least 10 shapes, and it could be anything besides a rectangle or square. I used this free triangle cut file from the Paper Issues store (I did do some modifying on the cut file to add in a few solid triangles where I wanted them but it honestly would have worked perfectly just the way it was!) I also did a little bit of measuring before I did any cutting, and added the journaling using my computer. Fortunately it all lined up perfectly and only had to cut the design once ;)

I stitched around the edges of some of the triangles, then filled in various openings with patterned papers from the Carpe Diem collection by Simple Stories.  I *really* like the bright colors and patterns!!! To give a bit of dimension, I added foam tape between the two layers, and then added my embellishments.

If you're on Facebook, stop by the PI {friends & fans} group, there are fun monthly challenges and lots of inspiration too!

Always Fabulous - Paper Issues

We're spotlighting the C'est La Vie collection by Pink Paislee on the Paper Issues blog today! I really, really love the papers in C'est La Vie, beautiful florals, bold stripes and pretty colors... all of my favorites!!

I fussy cut the gorgeous flowers, added a few splatters of mist and paint, and some pretty gold sequins. I finished the layout with cute die cuts, puffy stickers and that photo of my Mom from 1941. Such a quick and easy layout to make using those fussy cut flowers and die cuts!

Easter 1969 - Paper Issues

The second round of "Em-Brace World Peeps" is up on the Paper Issues blog today! I went with the Easter part of the theme, and scrapped this pic of me on Easter Sunday, 1969. I still remember wearing the hat to church that day ;)

I made my own cut file with my Silhouette Cameo and words from a song I remember singing as a kid, and added in die cuts, stickers and paper from Crate Papers "Bloom" collection. They look great with the old ;)  photo.

This Was Epic! - Paper Issues

Yesterday was Scraplift Sunday over in the Paper Issues {friends & fans} facebook group, and I played along too, using bits and pieces from this months Swag Bag, along with the enamel hearts and going places tag that are from the October (I think??) Swag Bag.

I love having all the little pieces to choose from, and wasn't that that cow paper perfect to use for this layout!! Oh what a difference in country life compared to the city we moved from ;)

Stop by the PI {friends & fans} group for more Scraplift Sunday inspiration, and join in on one of this months many challenges!

Let's Go - Pinspire Me

The March Pinspire Me mood board is up over on the Paper Issues blog, it's full of bright rainbows and beautiful colors!

My eye was drawn to the image in the lower right, with the greens, blues, reds, yellows, and even a little bit of pink! Right away I noticed that the papers in Amy Tangerines new Better Together collection matched perfectly, so I knew I had to use it for my layout ;)

I fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves from patterned paper, and used them with pieces from the die cut set, along with that sweet little bow that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I just love that bow!!
As with a lot of my layouts, I added in a few sequins here and there ;)  and gave it some splatters of yellow mist.  Another favorite to add to my girlies ever growing album!

You Make Me Happy!

We're spotlighting the new Better Together collection by Amy Tangerine over on the Paper Issues blog today, I really *love* the bright colors and bold patterns and had fun mixing and matching. They really do look "Better Together" ;)

I added splatters of mist to my cardstock, then layered on the large strips of patterned papers, machine stitching them as I layered. Next came the embellishments from the die-cut pack, along with a few stars I cut with my Silhouette. Another layout to add to the album!

March Take 5 Challenge - Paper Issues

It's time again for the Take 5 Challenge that I host over on the Paper Issues blog!!! I've got a list to inspire, so be sure to stop by to play along, and a chance to win a gift card to the PI store!! Here's my layout, my Take 5 inspiration items are: the color yellow, the color blue, a title, a flower, and an animal (that sweet little deer) all from the Bloom collection, by Crate Paper. I've always loved every collection that Maggie Holmes has designed, and this one is at the top of the list!!

See that cute little card with the yellow heart?? I tucked it behind the flower so only the numbers 15-16 and 01 show, perfect for this school layout since it's the 2015-2016 school year, and my girl is in 1st grade.  I love when things work out like that :)
