Pool Fun! - July Scrap Soup and a FREE Cut File!

The July Scrap Soup is up over at Paper Issues!! What is Scrap Soup you ask?? Quick and simple, I give you a recipe, and you must use all the ingredients on your project. You can add to the recipe to make it your own, but, you must use everything in the original recipe.  Sound like fun?!?!

Here is this month's recipe:

To start my layout, I used the patterned paper for my background. I added my 6" square photo, 6 embellishments, the alpha letters to spell SPLASH, and the grid design clouds that I fussy cut. I also added the fun waves cut from blue cardstock, using this FREE cut file from the Paper Issues store!
The waves add just the perfect touch to complete my layout!

Legoland! - Paper Issues

The new issue is up over at Paper Issues! This months theme is called " Let's Taco 'bout It" and one of the suggested ideas is to use a speech bubble. I thought that sounded fun, and I knew the perfect FREE Speech Bubble cut file to use! And because there is nothing better than a FREE cut file, I used this FREE Adventure cut file too!

It all started with this photo of my boy looking through the Lego shark at Legoland. I wanted to go with a sea/pirate/adventure theme, so I used the papers and ephemera from the Secrets of the Sea boy collection by Bella Blvd. The colors are bright and fun, and have lots of sea creatures and even have that cute ship and pirate too!

I used white cardstock for my background, layered the embellishment pieces next to my photo, and then added the speech bubble.
To make the speech bubble, I first cut the border from red cardstock using my Silhouette die cutting machine, then I used the print option to print my journaling on white cardstock. Next, I used the cut option to cut out the speech bubble, and then glued the two pieces together. Such a quick and easy way to add journaling!

While you're over at Paper Issues grabbing these two cut files, be sure to check out the other FREE cut files too, there's a bunch of them in the store!!

The Chick-Fil-A Cow - Scraplift Sunday

It's scraplift Sunday over at Paper Issues, and they're lifting little 'ol me!  How fun is that!
Here's the layout everyone is lifting...

And here's my lift, it's the day my girlie met the Chick-Fil-A cow.  I used way too many manufacturers to list them all, it's a hodgepodge of lots of different brands. I do love that Bella Blvd cow paper though, and their "holy cow" sticker, how perfect is that!

I followed my original layout pretty closely, I used a wood grain paper for the background, layered 3 patterned papers behind my photo, kept most of the embellishments to the left of the photo, and used sequins, stars and flowers.

Now pop on over to the Paper Issues blog to see even more inspiration from the Design Team, I love seeing how they all took my layout and made it their own.
