I took the little kids to see Daddy at work yesterday.
Tucker loves to visit Dad's work.
Gracie still isn't sure about the loud noises.
I took the camera with me to get some photos of Clayton on a new bike. He is one of the few people I know that absolutely LOVES his job.
How cool is it to get to do this all day for a living.

Yep, it's a real job to ride a motorcycle all day.
He's a rider coach for the state of California, and teaches people how to ride safely.
Come to think of it, I love my job too. There's nothing like being a mom. I just don't have to be on 2 wheels and wear a helmet to do it.
Although some days it might make things easier : )

{Friday} The Princess and the Frog

When I was pregnant with Gracie, I bought a sweet little stuffed frog with the idea that I would take a picture of her with the little frog on the same day each month for her first year. At the end of the year, I would make a small scrapbook with just those pictures.
Here's where we are so far.
From her first day home,
to this month, month 6.

I can't belive how much smaller her little frog has gotten :)

We had a great time over the holiday weekend. I've just been so busy since we've been home, I haven't had time to even turn the computer on.
I always take my camera when we go up to my inlaws. I love the country feel, and especially love the sometimes unusual things I find to take pictures of.
Such as this:

Now, to a city girl like me, this was a rattlesnake. But to the rest of the family they all new it was just a Common King Snake.
And guess where the photo was taken??
On their driveway.
Then there was a stop at Cairns Corner, the local outdoor fruit stand. There's nothing like fresh fruits and veggies.
I took pictures this time though.

And found this:

We have stopped there many times, but I had never noticed the historic marker before.
I took this photo out the car window as we were driving along. Another cool view for a city girl:

I took this photo at the cheese farm. The kids like to see the chickens, roosters and goats they have there.
And then my favorite photo from the weekend is this:
I have been wanting to take a picture of Gracie sitting in her Great Grandma's (her namesake) chair since the day she was born. This was Great Grandma's favorite chair. She would sit out in the garden for hours at a time. The chair is quite old, and has been moved from house to house over time. There is even a family joke/legend that the chair moves around the yard, and that it's just Great Grandma watching over everyone. As I took Gracie over to sit her in the chair, Grandpa (my hubby's dad) swore that the chair was facing the opposite direction the day before.
I too like to think it's just Great Grandma watching over us.
I know she would be proud.

Here's my picture of the day. I have these in my garden, and that means Summer is on its way!
We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning for my Mom and Dad inlaw's to spend the holiday weekend with them. No school on Friday or Monday, so we are taking advantage of the long weekend.
I really need to be packing, but here I sit playing with Photo Shop instead. The lettering on the sunflower pic looks cool though, so I guess you could say it's time well spent.
Ya sure.
Be back Monday.
Have a great Memorial Day!

I spent most of yesterday finishing up layouts for Tucker's 3rd grade classroom scrapbook. After the field trip to the Discovery Science Center last week, I had more cute pictures to work with. I wanted them all finished since his teacher told me he was going to have the scrapbook out on display for Open House tonight :)
I ended with this one
.Sums up the school year with just one word.
Only 19 days of school left.
I'm counting every one of them!

(and yes, I blurred the faces since they aren't my kids)
papers - Me and My Big Ideas
alpha stickers - Doodlebug
cardstock - Bazzill

{Sunday 8:45 pm} Did You Just Feel That??

For all of you NOT living here in So. California, we just had another earthquake. You would think being a native Californian I would be used to them by now.
Um, not so much.
Here's just one little corner of my scraproom that I need to pick up now that the shaking has stopped.

Patiently waiting for the next aftershock :)

It's finally Friday!
Looking forward to the weekend,
we've got lots of fun things planned.
One of those things would be scrapping a picture I took this afternoon of Andrew and Gracie. My oldest, and my youngest.
I love sweet moments like this!

Here's a quick but fun layout I did this morning.
Sometimes I feel guilty because I've done so many layouts in the past 6 months about Gracie.
But then I remember all the layouts I've done of the boys
over the years, and then I don't feel so bad :)
(And using all this pink and purple is just too much fun!)
Also, after answering so many emails about what kind of paper did I use, or who made that embellishment, I'm going to try and list what products I've used when I post a layout.Sometimes it might be that I've used a scrap from way back when and can't remember who made it, but I'll try!
So for today:
Zoofari paper-Doodlebug
Chipboard animals - Colorbok
Cardstock - Bazzill
Thickers alpha letters - American Craft
Scallop punch - Stampin Up
and the green stripe paper that the journaling is on is part of the packaging that the chipboard animals were in :)

What a weekend...
Friday night we took (a ton) pictures of Austin and his girlfriend Marissa before they left for her Senior Prom. It was so fun to see all the kids dressed in their tuxedos and beautiful dresses. They were more than willing to pose for pics on such an important night. A photographers dream!

Saturday we started the Mother's Day celebrating early with lunch at a new restaurant I had wanted to try, and then a surprise visit to the scrapbook store so I could do some shopping. Now that's my kind of day!
Sunday afternoon we took a picnic lunch to the park with the little kids (both the big kids were working at the Happiest Place on Earth) and played on the swings and had a wonderful day!

This year was my 21st year being a mom (I still can't believe Andrew will be 22 next month!!) It's been an interesting time. Some days you think to yourself that running a multi-million dollar company surely couldn't be as difficult as being home with 2 small boys. Then there are days that after those 2 small boys are all grown up, that you wish they were small again and right beside you along with the other 2 little ones you have now. Yep, it's been an interesting time, but one I wouldn't trade for the world!
Oh, and here's a picture of one of those little ones I am referring to.
She is 6 months old today :)

Here's a layout I did bright and early this morning
about how Gracie's middle name is really Marie,
but how I call her Gracie Lou. Just one of the funny little nicknames I have for her :)
Hubby has the day off of work, so we all get to be home together today. I Love days like today.

On being a Mom...

Sometimes when you wonder
if you are doing this Mom thing right,
you find your answer written on the bathroom wall ;)

A Belgium Train Station

Oh I so wish I could have seen this in person, to be a part of it.
It gives me goosebumps to watch it.
I loved the Sound of Music as a kid.
Turn the music up and take a look...
