{CHA - a Scrapbookers Dreamland}

I've just spent the past 2 days at CHA (the Craft and Hobby Association) Trade Show at the Anaheim Convention Center. For a scrapbooker, it's like a dreamland! Walking from booth to booth, seeing all the NEW products that will be coming out in the next few months, you can't help but want to sit down in the isle with your paper trimmer and adhesive and starting creating right there!
This was my first year going as a Professional Crafter, and I must say, placing those first few orders was so exciting. I'm sure there were angels singing : )
I had a great time connecting with old friends and meeting new friends too. Heres' a few pics to share. (and as usual, most are very dark due to the lighting in the convention center)

For those of you that have been scrapbooking for awhile, remember the company Lil' Davis?? They had a cute little pic of their daughter Davis on all their packaging quite a few years back. That's Davis on the right in the pic above, she's 9 1/2 now!! It was so great to see Brian and Tricia, and see they are back with their new company called Epiphany Crafts.
Ok, now it's off to pack. School gets out early tomorrow, and no school on Friday, so we're headed to Grandpa and Grandma's for the weekend to do some skiing. I bought Gracie the cutest snow suit today, she looks like a pink marshmallow ; )
Have a great weekend!

I've never really been much of a collector.
Even though my sweet hubby would say I am a "scrapbook supply collector", I beg to differ.
That all changed this past summer with a visit to the Flea Market. I bought a piece of vintage Hobnail Milk Glass. Not to collect, but just because I thought it was pretty, and would be cute to store things in my scrapbook studio. Little did I know that one piece would start the obsession.
Today when I realized I had spent over 2 hours on the Internet, looking on ebay and antique websites for all the beautiful pieces I must have, I had to admit to myself that I now am a collector of vintage Hobnail Milk Glass.
The jury is still out on "scrapbook supply collector" though ; )

It looks like the rain is finally over in good 'ol Southern CA. It's nice to look outside and see the sunny blue skies! I love the rain though, so 5 days of rain was a nice change. I got some great photos of the dark clouds, the pouring rain, and even a beautiful pic of a rainbow.

I'm headed off this morning to the CHA Supershow in Anaheim. It will be interesting to see what it's like, as this is the first time they have had one here in CA. Lot's of fun scrapbook goodies to buy I'm sure!!
Have a great Saturday!

I've been re-arranging things in my scrapbook studio this past week. Trying to make it more "user friendly" I guess you could say. I now have all my embellishments (except bling and flowers) organized by catagory such as Holiday, School, Boys, Girls, Travel etc. If I want to make a school layout for Tucker, everything "school" is all in one place. If it's a layout about Christmas, it's all in one place. Now to tackle all my patterned papers and do the same type of grouping by theme. While I've been working on things in the studio, I've been looking online to see what others have done for organization. Here's a few rooms I've found that look like they would be fun to play in.
Teresa Collins Room
Jenni Bowlin's Studio.
Jenni's is one of my faves!

I could move right into Margie Romney-Aslett's room..."M's" and all!
I'll be taking a break from all the organizing this weekend though, the Scrapbook Expo is in town, and the Flea Market is this weekend too!! I can't wait!!

It's Sunday night, and I'm wishing it was Friday so I could add more time to the weekend. LOL
Yesterday I hosted a crop (for those of you that don't scrapbook, a "crop" is getting together with friends to scrapbook) at my house. It was just going to be a few Moms from Tucker's school that I've gotten to know this year. I also invited friends that I used to work with at the scrapbook store, and some former customers of that store. Friday night it was going to be 9 to 10 people. Sounded like fun! By Saturday morning it was up to 14 people, still sounded like fun. By the time everyone arrived, and we had all the seating figured out it was 22 people!!! Oh but we had such a great time. It was so fun seeing people I hadn't seen in awhile, and then even finding out 3 people knew each other from other places and hadn't seen each other in a long time either. In all the madness my friend Jess scooted off to borrow more tables and chairs from her dad so we could all have a place to sit. A neighbor brought over 2 outdoor heaters, and canopies so we were even warm well into the evening (or should I say morning ha ha) and my friend Joe went home and brought back a supply of adhesive for everyone to try that had never heard of Zip Dry. (Seriously Joe, 30 bottles of zip dry on hand? LOL)
One of the things I love this hobby so much is that it brings people together. Not everyone knew each other when they arrived, but by the end of the night it seemed like a group of old friends that had known each other for years. We're planning on getting together again soon, and I can't wait!!

Well, the computer is not up and running yet : ( A few parts are on order so hopefully soon. At least I have Tucker's computer so I can still surf the web. I just don't have all my favorite scrapbooking blogs and websites bookmarked on his, and I can't upload all the fun layouts I've done the past few weeks. My hubby just keeps telling me soon honey soon. LOL

I'm doing Project 365 again, or Project Life as it is being called this year. I can't believe I actually took a photo everyday last year. I still have 2 weeks of pics to print for '09 (since no computer to print them on) but other than that, it is complete! I almost blew it New Years Eve though. We were reminiscing about 2009 with my inlaws, when all of a sudden at 11:57 I realized I hadn't taken a photo for the day yet. There I was, sparkling cider in hand, running like a crazed person to get my camera. That was the moment I really needed the photo taken of : ) I quickly handed my Mom-in-law the camera and she snapped a pic of Clayton and I just in time. Good times, good times!

Tucker started back to school this week. I loved having him home for 2 weeks. The big boys still have 2 more weeks off, but they are picking up all the extra hours they can at Disneyland so seeing them is rare right now.

Gracie has passed the walking stage and now runs everywhere. Her favorite thing to do is go outside, and will stand at the door and say "side" "side" side" until one of us takes her out to collect leaves, look for kitty's and point at the trees. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I makes me sad to think she is already past so much of the baby stage.

So there's a quick update.
I'll post pics and layouts as soon as I can!!
In the meantime, I'm scrapbooking like crazy and loving every minute of it!
