Last night was the final night of a 4 week session of the Scrapbook Design and You (Beginners Scrapbooking) class I've been teaching. Oh what a nice group of ladies they were! So much fun :)  This is the layout I had them make for our last night of class:
Just a fun and easy layout, but they had to measure and cut their paper, (one student had never used a paper trimmer until 4 weeks ago) punch a border,  use a rubber stamp, and the best part, they learned how to make this really cool flower. I assured them the flower looked harder than it really was. They loved the end result!
Next week I start another 4 week session with a new group of students, and I am really looking forward to it. It's so much fun to see that "light bulb moment" when they realize, oh wow I can do this.
And..the photo, it's my Mom, her sister and my grandparents in 1946. Love the old black and white photos from back then.

Some Subway Art I created for our kitchen.
Mom's rules to live by you could say.
I love how it looks, and everyone needs a little reminder sometimes ;)

{Valentine's Day Love}

*I love that in 5th grade, it's still cool to hand out valentines.
*I  love that Tucker wanted me to help him make valentines that would be "cool, and different from anyone else in the class"
*I love how they turned out!

These were so fun, quick and easy to make!  I took a photo of Tucker with his arm out, making a fist. Added the text in Photoshop and printed as 4x6. Cut a slit at the top and bottom of his hand and slid the sucker in. I put a small piece of tape on the back, right over the slits in the photo and the stick of the sucker to make sure it stayed in place.
Love 'em!

{Crafty Tuesday}

I can already tell Gracie is following in my foot steps. There is nothing she likes better (ok, except for having tea parties) than playing with my left over paper scraps. She likes to "play scrapbooking", which is a frequent request. Today I gave her some old American Craft stickers and let her color them with a marker. I had her put the stickers on some kraft cardstock, and wallah ~ instant Valentine's Day decor!
She loved her creation, but was.not.happy that she had to quit "playing scrapbooking" to go outside so Mommy could take a picture of her masterpiece.
She never did look at the camera
Like Mother, like Daughter : )

CHA pics are coming I promise. It's been a busy week, still trying to catch up. In the meantime, check out this ad that will air during the Superbowl tomorrow. Tucker (the biggest Star Wars fan there is) watched it and said "that's the best commercial I've ever, ever seen!! Mom, we need to go to buy a Volkswagen!"
They hit it on the mark with this one :)
