{hello you, again}

Hi friends! Today I have 2 projects to share made with “Hello You”, the August scrapbook kit from the Paper Bakery.  First up, a layout using this weeks sketch.
I used some of the elements from the sketch like the circles, photo placement on the right and the paper strips.
I also added the fun library card, flair button and the sequins to make it my own.
Next is this cute sign I made for a baby shower. The colors for the shower were oranges and pinks, so this paper from Pretty Little Studio in this months kit was perfect to use, along with more of my favorite…sequins! I made 8 signs just like this, each for a different food or drink area.
The sequin hearts were quick and easy to put together, but added such color and sparkle!!
I cut the words with my Silhouette, then added everything to the patterned paper, and slipped it into the frame. I'm loving these Ikea frames!

Well, this is the last week before school starts and we still have a few things to check off the bucket list ;)  It's has been such a great summer, does it really have to end?

As always, thanks for stopping by!

{Pretty Little Cards}

I had 2 cards up on the Pretty Little Studio blog this week. Both are quick and simple to make, and the perfect type of card to have on hand for a last minute birthday wish or thank you note.
For this card I used the cute hexagon stickers for the base of the card, then used some foam tape under the sweet little deer to give it a 3-D effect. A bit of bakers twine and my card was complete!
And for this one,  I punched 10 circles, two of 5 different patterned papers. I glued the first 5 circles down, then added the next layer of circles and ran a straight stitch over the top with my sewing machine. A bit of bakers twine on this one too, and another completed card!
Thanks for stopping by today, I always appreciate the visit!

{Hello You}

Here's a new layout using “Hello You”, the August scrapbooking kit from the Paper Bakery. Perfect for this pic of Grandpa and Gracie walking on the pier in Pismo Beach a few weeks ago.
I fussy cut the pretty Carta Bella paper and added the Jillibean letters to the printable journaling spot. (all part of this months kit!!)
I used the Queen & Co. yellow dots as centers of my flowers, but also as confetti too, and mixed it in with confetti that I punched from the fabulous Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm paper.
The last few weeks of summer are winding down, and we still have some things left on our bucket list to cross off. I'm enjoying this time and don't want to see it come to an end.
Thanks for stopping by!

{Christmas in August}

We've all heard of Christmas in July, but what about Christmas in mid-August? I used the "Christmas at Home" collection by Pretty Little Studio by focusing on the red, white & blue papers and embellishments and leaving out anything green or that had a Christmas theme to it. Although if you look really close, one of the banner flags does have words to "Twas the Night Before Christmas" I don't think anyone will ever notice ;)
I used a mix of the Deck the Halls Paper Ribbons and the Merry and Bright Bunting Flags to make the cute banner, and also added in the Festive Bookmark Tag as part of the banner and for my journaling too. I stitched everything down using a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine, then added a flair button and a title cut with my Silhouette.
Another layout completed for the family history album!

Thanks for stopping by!

I decided to move one thing in my scrapbook studio. We all know what that means, right?  It's 3 days later and I am still moving things around.

You wouldn't believe the craziness even if I showed you the photos ;)

Be back soon,

{One Fine October Afternoon}

Unless you are brand new to the scrapbooking world, I'm sure you've heard of "Pocket Scrapbooking". Sometimes known as "Project Life", "Project 365", "Capture 365" and the list goes on and on. It's a trend that has been around for a while, but has really become popular the past year. The idea behind it is capturing your life in photos, and then slipping the photos in divided page protectors along with fun embellishments and/or journaling cards. So what if you want to try this new idea of scrapbooking, but don't want to commit 100%?  How about making a Pocket Scrapbooking style layout, using regular scrapbooking supplies on a 12x12 layout?

I  started with two 4x6 photos just like I would slip into the pocket pages and then added three 3.5x2.5 photos along with some pieces of patterned paper and cute embellishments from the Paper Bakery's August scrapbooking kit. The October Afternoon die cut shapes and custom flair button are perfect to use as embellishments!
I even used the packaging from the die cut shapes as part of my title and as a background piece.
The cool thing about this layout is that I used five, YES FIVE photos!! It's been forever since I've used that many photos on a layout.
As always, thanks for stopping by today!

Splash & Play

Last week we took a mini vacation with my mom and dad-in-law up the California coast, and spent a few days in Morro Bay and the nearby towns. It was great weather, great shopping, great food and all around a great time!  Of course I had to come home and scrap one of the pics from the trip ;)
I used Pretty Little Studio papers and embellishments, and this weeks "Out of the Box Challenge" photo as my inspiration. As you can see I pulled a few key elements from the inspiration photo. I love the mix of patterns on the rectangles, and that fun ampersand design too, so I had to make sure those were both on my layout!
As I started my layout, I had my supplies all laid out together. I noticed one of the packaging pieces was the perfect size rectangle so that was actually the piece that I used first, then built the rest of my layout around it.
That rectangle became this with a little bit of shabby-ing up on the edges.
A little machine stitching, a few alpha stickers along with an ampersand cut with my Silhouette, and my layout was complete!

{You Are Just My Type}

Have you ever been working on a layout, know exactly what title you want to use, but once you start going through your alphas you realize you are short one letter?  That would be the case with this layout I made with the July scrapbook kit from the Paper Bakery.
I knew what I wanted for the title since the paper had the cute typewriters, but without two letter T's it wouldn't work. It's time to be creative!
Did you know that if you take two L's and flip one over they become a letter T? Yep they do, and it worked perfect for this "type" of layout ;)
Once I had these Crate Paper letters on the patterned paper, it hardly even showed that I had layered them together.
I love when things work out almost like you planned them ;)

Thanks for stopping by today, I always appreciate the visit!
