Room 14 | Maggie Holmes

I took soooo many photos on Gracie's first day of school. *Note: Almost all of them were of her, except for the 2 mom's that asked if I could take a few photos of their kids since they had forgotten their camera. (But that's a whole different story, one you probably don't want my opinion of ha-ha  Seriously, you forgot your camera on your kid's very first day of school??????)
I digress. Anyway, this is a favorite photo from that day as she was looking for her classroom.
I used a bunch of Maggie Holmes collections on this one, lots of layers and pop dots!
There wasn't much room left for any journaling, so I added a piece of cardstock to the back and wrote on it. This is page 3 (or is it 4?) of her first day. You only have 1 first day of school, so there are lots of photos and memories to record ;)
Oh, and I printed the photos I took for the 2 moms and gave the pictures to both of them the next day. I wanted to drag them back home with me and show them what they could do with the first day photos, but I refrained. At least so far ;)

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Amazing Grace!

Just an everyday photo of our sweet girl.
This isn't a color combo I use very often, but I'm loving the red, yellow & gray together. I cut the letters from the Elle's Studio paper, and that matched perfectly with the American Crafts chipboard shapes and Paper Bakery flair button. I used my Silhouette to cut "amazing", and of course I had to add a few sequins too! ;)

Thanks for stopping by today, I always appreciate the visit!

The Paper Bakery | Fall Moments

Remember that little sneak peek I posted a few days ago? Here's the finished layout...

I used the "Pumpkin Latte" scrapbooking kit from the Paper Bakery, and just love these warm Autumn colors! The teals, oranges and wood grain, are oh so pretty!
This was such a quick and easy layout to put together, I had a few strips of patterned paper left from another project, so I cut just a few more and had an instant background! Oh, and that cute fall wood veneer, you can find that here in the Paper Bakery shop.
I have to admit I had a crazy hard time taking pics of this layout, those teal glitter numbers somehow kept throwing everything off.  Why is it so hard to photograph something with glitter? ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I always appreciate the visit.

**I'm doing a little updating of the blog design....if it looks a bit crazy, it will be fixed soon!!

It finally feels like Fall.
A perfect day for a little scrapbooking out in the sunshine!
Enjoy today!

The Paper Bakery | Hello!

Woo-hoo! The Weekend is finally here! It's supposed to be really nice weather here in So Cali, perfect for playing outside, then sneaking inside for a bit of scrapbooking ;)
I have a new layout to share today, using "Pumpkin Latte", the October Scrapbooking kit from the Paper Bakery.
I did a little fussy cutting of the cute Pebbles paper, the phone dials were perfect for a layout about my phone. I do a lot of daily life layouts, so yep, I had to make one about my cell phone too! This will be fun to look back on in 20 or so years and see how much phones have changed in that time.

I made a border with the pretty iridescent white sequins, I used a liquid craft glue and they are stuck for good!
Thanks for stopping by today, I always appreciate the visit!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I made this layout for Scrapbook Daisies, my local scrapbook store, using the new "Nirvana" collection from Marion Smith.
I love the old black & white photos with the vintage looking papers!
With some creative cutting, I used just 3 pieces of paper for the layout, and the only embellishment is the sweet little pearls I added to the flower! I also did a little machine sewing, I like the extra texture the stitching adds ;)

Here's a layout that I made for Scrapbook Daisies, my local scrapbook store, using the new Thirty-One collection from Pebbles.
Aren't those stickers cute?  I just kept layering and layering to form the clusters on each side. This was such a fun and easy layout to make, the stickers and numbers are the only embellishments I used!
We've had our Halloween decorations out for a few weeks now, and as usual, this week we are having an "I guess summer isn't over yet" heat wave. It's supposed to be 88°here today. We just might be able to roast pumpkin seeds on the front porch instead of in the oven ;)

The Paper Bakery | I Smile

I have a new layout to share today!!! This one uses "Pumpkin Latte", the October scrapbooking kit from the Paper Bakery.
I love the mix of the Websters Pages and Jenni Bowlin papers. Perfect for this old photo!
I added in some alphas from my stash along with the Amy Tangerine chipboard accents (yep they're in the kit too!) and those cute wood veneer clouds from the shop.

Well, we are officially on "storm watch" as they call it here in So. Cali, which means we might see 1/8th of an inch of rain ;)  I'll take what I can get though!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

first day shoes

Here's one of my favorite first day of school photos. Gracie picked out these shoes when we were shopping for school clothes, and was so excited to wear them on her first day.
You can't go wrong with hot pink plaid sneakers ;)
I did some layering with Crate Papers Maggie Holmes stickers and die cuts, and added the sequins to her cute polka dot paper.

I may or may not have taken over 80 pictures of Gracie that day (yes, seriously!)  but you only have one first day of school ;)

Thanks so much for stopping, I always appreciate the visit!

happy, happy, happy!

Hi friends! I have a new project to share today that I made for the Paper Bakery, using the September Scrapbooking kit. It sure was fun to make and was so easy to put together too!
To start, I tore the “Wild & Free Arrows” patterned paper by Glitz Designs into small pieces, and glued them to a 5x7 canvas.  I let the edges overlap to give it a bit of texture.
After the whole canvas was covered with the torn paper, I added the alphabet letter stickers from my stash to spell out happy, happy, happy. (This is a great way to use left over letters!) Next I brushed on a light coat of white paint, letting some of the paper show through.
After the paint had dried, I spritzed it with a bit of gold mist (I used Heidi Swapp’s Gold) Again, just a light coat so the colors in the paper will still show through.
After the mist had dried, I removed the alphabet stickers, added a few sequins and the die cut feather.
I really, really love how this turned out, and am already thinking of making a few of these using Christmas patterned paper. Or how about one for birthday d├ęcor? As always, so many ideas, so little time  ha-ha!

Thanks for stopping by,
