Halloween is Almost Here!

Today on the Paper Issues blog they're showcasing the fabulous After Dark collection by Crate Paper. I played along using this photo from last Halloween that somehow never made it into the scrapbook.

There's lots of layering on this one, using bits and pieces of the After Dark ephemera, puffy stickers and wood veneer too. I love the mix of textures and colors!

I did a bit of painting and misting on the paper under my photo, and see that orange and white diagonal stripe paper just behind the haunted house piece? That's part of the packaging on the ephemera pack. Perfect colors, perfect size, perfect to use!

As always, thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Paper Issues blog today for more After Dark ideas, and **use code Mary Ann at check out to save 20% off your order!!**

Scrapping the School Pics!

I'm still trying to play catch up with last years school photos, so here's another one completed and ready to go in her scrapbook!

I used lots of Heidi Swapp's September Skies collection, and even did a bit of machine stitching too!
I love the colors in this whole collection, and now wish I would have bought more of it ;)

Happy Autumn!

Over on the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} facebook page, there is a "Plan on It Challenge" using their print and cut file. I'm not doing the planner thing (yet, lol) but the sweet little fox was too cute to pass up, so I used him on a layout instead!

I used the Give Thanks 6x6 paper pad from Imaginisce along with some of their puffy stickers, a few wood veneer pieces, and a row of stitched sequins, and added in the sweet little fox!

Be sure to check out the Planner Challenge and get your free print and cut file, you could win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!!

Another New Layout!!

Hi friends, I have a new layout to share today!!

This cute paper was originally intended to be like a dart board, there were even some dart embellishments that went with it, but as soon as I saw it, I thought of an archery layout.

A few arrows, although different from archery arrows ;)  some wood veneer stars and a title and my layout was pretty much complete. I did add a little machine stitching along with my journaling too. A quick and easy layout!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Remember the Pinto

You might remember this layout I made a few weeks ago of me with my Mom and Dad's new car, well here's another layout with another new car. This was our 1972 Pinto, and if you lived through the 70's, you'll remember the Pinto ;)

I used lots of goodies from my stash on this one, my favorite piece is that cute little wood veneer car, just perfect to use!

Guest Designing for The Rubber Cafe'

I'm Guest Designing today over on The Rubber Cafe' blog, sharing this cute little card made with the October Kit of the Month, Creative Christmas.

For my card, I used Christmas is Coming bonus stamp set that's exclusive to subscribers, but only during the month of October...make sure to get yours!!

It has the sweetest little snowman happily watching the snowflakes falling from the sky. I loved how his arms were outstretched, and that gave me the idea to have him throwing snowballs instead!  I even added an extra snowball to look like one had dropped to the ground. Stop by The Rubber Cafe' blog to see how quick and simple this card was!

As always, thanks for dropping by today!

The Cat

I played along with the October sketch challenge over at Paper Issues, using this sketch:

I kept the 4 triangle design behind the photo, and switched my embellishments to opposite corners.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil along with gray paint for the dots, moving it to just random places on my background paper. This worked well to give me a large design from a small stencil.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

A new layout and some exciting news!

I played along with the Scraplift Sunday challenge over in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans facebook group using the new Cedar Lane collection by Pink Paislee. The colors in Cedar Lane were perfect to use with this photo of our front porch.

We are surrounded by mountains, so we see the sun rise from behind mountains in the morning and set behind more mountains in the evening. I love to sit outside on our porch at sunset and watch the beautiful color show!

I also snuck in that cute little house from the Wonder collection by Crate Paper, and those red alphas by Elle's Studio.

Oh, and I have some exciting news to share...I'll be Guest Designing this month for The Rubber Cafe and playing with their Creative Cafe Kit!!  I cant wait to show you what fun things I create!!

Well, happy Monday friends, I sure wish it was Friday!

Scrapping the Super Moon

Did you see the Super Moon last Sunday? We thought we were going to miss it by the time it came up from behind the mountains and peeked through heavy clouds that were in our view, but after waiting for almost an hour, the Super Moon finally appeared! Of course there were photos taken ;)

When I bought this Dear Lizzy paper with the phases of the moon on it, I thought it was fun and different, and wanted it to add to my stash. I had no idea at the time how perfect it would be for this layout!

I added embellishments from Crate Paper's After Dark collection, along with Dear Lizzy's star Thickers. I also added the cute wood veneer clouds and stars that I painted with white paint for a color dipped look. To get the look, I used washi tape to tape off a portion of the wood veneer, painted, then removed the washi. Using the washi tape leaves a nice crisp edge.

I really like the look of the painted veneer, and especially like how quick and easy it is to do!

First Day Shoes

I've been trying to get caught up on school albums, and even though I still have lots of photos left from last school year, I jumped ahead to this year and this photo.

I was going through my stash of patterned papers a few days ago and the colors in this paper caught my eye! I instantly thought of this photo of my girlie's shoes.

I layered on embellishments here and there, did a little bit of machine stitching, then added the date and the cute puffy 1 sticker to represent first grade. Another school layout complete!
