Scraplift Sunday - The Tractor Show

I played along with this week's Scraplift Sunday over in the Paper Issues {friends & fans group} I may have mentioned a time or two that I *love* Scraplift Sunday because the layouts come together so easy! Here's Michelle's inspiration layout, I love her grid design!

And here's what I came up with, using a grid design, but making it my own. I used a cut apart paper as part of my grid like Michelle did, along with one photo. The cute papers, stickers and die cuts are all part of the fab new Bloom & Grow collection from Simple Stories, perfect for this pic of Gracie at her first tractor show! I love that little farm fresh box of flowers!!

Have you played along with Scraplift Sunday over at Paper Issues??  You should, I'd love to see what you come up with!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Railtown - Pink Paislee Outfitters

We're spotlighting Pink Paislee's Outfitters collection over on the Paper Issues blog today! Outfitters is perfect for recording your outdoor memories, whether you spend a night gazing at the stars, living the lake life, or like us, a stop on our vacation at a state park that had the perfect place to capture a quick photo ;)

Don't you just love those plaids!!!  I cut the XO with my Silhouette, backed it with the pretty green plaid, then added a few die cut embellishments. Another layout complete for the vacation album!

Gleam Catchers - Paper Issues!

Part two of the July Issue is up over on the Paper Issues blog today! This months theme is "Gleam Catchers", and one of the suggested ideas is to use something shiny. Shiny sounded great to me, so something shiny it is!

I used two photos of my girl, both at the zoo, but taken five years apart. I love seeing how much she has grown!  To pull in the "shiny" part of the theme, I added some of my favorite glitter Thickers for the title and numbers, chipboard embellishments that have hints of gold, then used that cute time flies card between the two photos and just a sprinkle of sequins.

Don't you just love the shimmer and shine of the gold! Be sure to stop by the PI blog for even more ideas from more of the team, and to join in on the fun.

{P}inspire Me! - July

The new {P}inspire Me Challenge mood board is up over at Paper Issues.  Not only does the ice cream and fruit look so yummy, the colors are amazing.  I always love making {P}inspire me layouts,  as soon as I see the mood board the ideas start running through my head!

I really, really loved this color scheme, so I decided to go with the colors as my {P}inspiration. Can you even believe how well the paper from the "Under the Sea" collection by Doodlebug Designs works with my photo!  It was like the bubbles paper was made to match the ball my daughter was playing with!

To start my layout, I used the striped paper, from Shimelle's Starshine collection, and added a quick splatter of white paint. Next I added my title and photo that I cut using my Silhouette Cameo. I finished the layout by adding the Thickers word, a few of the extra Thicker pieces from that same package, sequins and a the colorful life die cut.

Have you ever played along with the {P}inspire Me challenge?? You totally should! It's great inspiration to start your layout, and you have a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!

Take 5 Tuesday - July Challenge

July is here, and that means it's time for the newest Take 5 Challenge that I host over at Paper Issues. Each and every month there is a new Take 5, and a new inspiration and idea list. I'd love for you to play along for a chance to win a gift card to the Paper Issues store, and a chance to be featured on the Paper Issues blog!!
Here's my layout, using the color red, the color blue, patterned paper, a black and white photo, and sequins,  all from the Take 5 Challenge inspiration and idea list.

I used pieces from the new America the Beautiful collection by Pebbles, and the new Sunny Days collection by Elle's Studio. America the Beautiful is wonderful patriotic collection, but works so well for regular everyday photos too! The red gingham check reminded me of a outdoor barbeque, add in a watermelon and it's perfect for this photo of my mom from the 1950's, helping with the barbeque in my grandparents back yard.

This was a quick and easy layout to put together, that started by cutting the largest floral square, then using my paper trimmer to cut out a smaller square from the center. I added both squares to the red gingham paper, did a little machine stitching around the edges, then layered on my embellishments, photo, title and a few sequins. Another layout completed for the family history album!

So how about playing along with the Take 5 Challenge too??  I'd love to see how creative you can be!
