2 New Layouts! - Queen and Co.

Hey friend!! I have two new Queen and Co. layouts to share, both using Foam Fronts and matching dies. I'm still kind of a newbie to the Foam Fronts, but I sure have fallen in love with them, and especially like using them on my layouts!

My first layout documents my daughters 7th birthday, and the My Little Pony party she had that year.

Since this was a birthday layout, I wanted some sort of birthday embellishment to decorate the page. I used the Lines Foam Front Shaker Kit, and turned that into a birthday present by cutting off two of the "lines" with my scissors, leaving only 5 openings to fill, and giving it more of a square shape. The foam is easy to cut through, so it was quite simple to cut.
After I had the Foam Front added to my layout, I then filled it with the pretty Purple Sequin Sprinkles. Next, I used the Lines Foam Front Die to cut the purple paper from the Simple Stripes 6x6 Mat Stack, and then used my die cutting machine to cut the matching bow. I also added a name tag to the package, and tied it on with the yellow twine from the Twine Assortment Package. To give it a bit more color and bling, I added some of the pretty Yellow Petite Posies. I love the extra little sparkle!

For my second layout, I used two photos of the beautiful butterflies that visited out yard last summer, along with the Solo Butterfly Foam Front. I love that I was able to use a mixture of the Neutral and Bright Pearlies Toppings to replicate the colors of the butterflies in my photos!

The combination of orange, black and white Pearlies look so good together, so much like the colors of the real butterflies!

I topped the Solo Butterfly Foam Front with the yellow diamond paper from the Pretty Presents 6x6 Mat Stack, and to add just a bit more yellow, I also added the sweet Yellow Pom Flowers and just a few of the Yellow Rivets too.

Have you tried the Foam Fronts and matching dies??  They really are easy to use, and so fun to customize to match your layout or card!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Spring Cleaning Challenge - Paper Issues

The online Spring Crop is still happening at Paper Issues!
Here's a layout for one of today's challenges, the "Spring Cleaning" challenge. For this one, get out some of your older supplies and use them up! I think anyone can jump in and play with this one, don't we all have some supplies in our stash that haven't seen the light of day in a while? What a perfect time to use them up!

For my layout, I used some of the Millie & June collection by Fancy Pants Designs, along with some of the Cute Girl collection by Crate Paper. Neither one is really old, but I don't have much left of either line, so combining them together worked for this back to school layout for my girlie!

Ok, it's day 2 of the crop, time for you to join in and play along!

Around the Bend Challenge - Paper Issues

The online Spring Crop has started at Paper Issues {friends & fans}!! Join in on the fun, there are games and prizes and lots of challenges going on through Sunday!!

Here is my first crop layout, made for the "Around the Bend" challenge, where the challenge is to journal around a photo, around your page, around an embellishment etc. I used my good ol' Silhouette Cameo to journal in a circle.

I used lots of Pink Paislee's Oh My Heart collection, I loved that it had orange in the papers and embellishments to go with my girlie's orange Home Depot vest.

Here is a check list of challenges for the crop, how about playing along too! You have until March 26 to post your finished projects in the crop album.

Disney Magic! - Queen and Co.

Hi Guys!
I have two new Queen and Co. layouts to share with you today!

My first layout is of Tucker and Mickey Mouse, and even though he wasn't too sure about Mickey, I still wanted to capture that special moment.

To start my layout, I cut strips of paper from the Around the Park 12x12 Mat Stack, and glued them on to my cardstock. To really give it a Disney feel, I added the gloves from the Magic Shaker set, that I covered in white cardstock, and then added the "magic" word epoxy icon across top of both of them.

To go along with the stars in the paper, I added the die cut stars, cut with the nested stars dies. I also added a star pop up shaker that I filled with yellow Fimo Fun Stars and yellow tiny bubbles. Two flair buttons and the Magic Castle epoxy that I cut in half, finished my layout.

Continuing on with the Disney theme, here's a layout about taking Tucker to the theater to see the Cars movie.

I again started with strips of paper from the Around the Park 12x12 Mat Stack, and centered my photo between them.
I added the filmstrip shakers from the Say Cheese set, they go so well with the movie theme! I filled the shakers with gray and white Fimo Fun Stars mixed with the pearl color Pearlies.

The cute Fast Pass tickets, and Official License are from the Around the Park Mat Stack too, they made the perfect embellishments!

To further my movie theme, I layered on the movie reels from the Say Cheese shaker set, and filled them with black Pearlies.
I topped it off with the camera flair button, and finished the layout with the epoxy arrows and dots.

Be sure to check out the Queen and Co. website for even more fun embellishments, and the Queen and Co. blog for more ideas and inspiration!!

Magnolia Jane - Product Spotlight

We're spotlighting Heidi Swapp's new Magnolia Jane collection over at Paper Issues today!! I loved  Magnolia Jane as soon as I saw it, the pretty florals and fun embellishments. Isn't it always about the embellishments. ha!

I hardly ever make layouts about me, I'm always the one behind the camera, not in front of it. But when your hubby grabs the camera and starts taking pictures, you go with it, even if your hair and shirt are still a bit wet from getting caught in the rain after dinner without an umbrella. You only turn 53 once, you might as well enjoy it. Right ;)

Take 5 Tuesday Challenge - Disneyland!

The March Take 5 Tuesday Challenge that I host is up over on the Paper Issues blog. What's Take 5 you ask?  Here's the basics, I give you an idea and inspiration list and from that list you pick 5 items to use on your project. Simple and fun, and you could win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!

Here is this month's list...

And here is my layout, using the Chasing Dreams collection by Maggie Holmes. My 5 items from the list are, the colors blue and mint green, stitching, stickers and leaves/flowers.  You might notice that I didn't use any patterned papers at all, just my cardstock base with a bit of blue paint brushed on, then pieces of ephemera, chipboard and alpha letters. It's not very often that I don't use any patterned paper at all, but I was so in love with the ephemera from this collection, once I started pulling out pieces to use, they all layered together so well, I just went with it! How perfect is that map piece and castle book for a Disneyland layout!

Now head on over to the Paper Issues blog for more Take 5 inspiration. And don't forget, while shopping in the Paper Issues store, use code: Mary Ann for 20% off your entire order!!

Sketchy Saturday! - Paper Issues

It's Sketchy Saturday over at Paper Issues! I always like the sketch challenges, it's almost like a "free" layout since there is nothing to think about, just grab your paper and glue! You can use the sketch exactly as it is, or make it your own.

Here's my layout using the sketch!

I kind of followed the sketch, using the 3 photos, layers behind the photos, embellishments in front of the photos. What I didn't do is a large title, you could say that was the making it my own part ;)

So now you've seen the sketch, and an idea how to use it. How about giving it a go too??
We'd love to see what you come up with, so be sure to add it to the March Challenge album over in the Paper Issues {friends & fans} Facebook group. You could win a gift card to the Paper Issues store!!!
